The dress code
The theme is hats
Big hats, small hats, outrageous hats, sparkly hats. You can choose not to wear a hat, but you will be ridiculed and shamed for your exposed noggin. Removal of hat after the initial hat-wearing moment is discouraged, but begrudgingly accepted.
Note that Natalie has no intention of wearing a hat, does not support hat wearing as a theme, and has not signed off on this, but for the thrill-seeking amongst you, Will will be wearing hats (and will like you more if you join him in this endeavour). Some would say there will be an almost Shakespearean quality to the hat-wearers (Capulet?) and the hatless (Montague?), but hopefully with less blood and gore.
Besides hats, you are welcome to wear your birthday suit, but we are also generally wholly supportive of anything you are comfortable in, including outfits of sparkly, colourful, cozy, festival, sequinned, or general demeanour.
Good questions
What about kids? +
Please ask Will and Nat, as we have only planned for a small number, and have generally spoken to you about them first! It's €40 per child per night (ages 3–12), and a travel cot for under-3s is free of charge.
Is there really a sauna? +
There is — hopefully! Bring a swimsuit. There's also a good chance of lawn games, fresh garden food, and a great deal of Guinness.
Should we bring a gift? +
Honestly, you're doing enough by travelling to Ireland midweek for us. If you must force something upon us, we accept hats (we love hats, no really), anything you feel particularly strongly about, or a contribution to the honeymoon, which we can send a link for when we have worked out where we're going.
When do I need to RSVP? +
Let us know one or two nights by 7 July. After you RSVP we'll send a second form for the flight you've booked, your dietary preferences and food choices — due by 30 July, before we lock everything in.
